"Double" Chucks

Starting in the year 2006, Converse began issuing new styles of chucks with "double" features like double tongues or double uppers. Double chucks are availavble in both high top and low cut models.

Youth and Infant Chucks

These are chucks available in special youth (10.5 - 2.5) and infant sizes (3-10), generally for kids ages 1-7. After that kids would be fitted in the smallest adult sizes (3 and up). New models this year include black and red skull and charcoal high tops, zebra fur high tops, double tongue chucks in high tops and low cut, and monochrome black high tops for infants. Leather Chucks

New leather models are now available. There is the special edition "Jerry Sailor" high top in brown or cypress green, the I, Robot black leather and the Jackass black and parchment leather in high top. Fold Over (Roll Down) and Multi-Color Chucks

Fold over or roll down high tops are two or three colored chucks in solid color and pattern combinations. They can be worn as regular high tops or partially laced with the canvas uppers folded over to reveal the inside color or pattern. Fold overs remain popular, and new models continue to be issued on a regular basis. Current issues are shown below. The 2-Tone canvas Chuck Taylor is similar to the foldover models, having colored inner canvas lining, and can be worn rolled down. The main difference between the two styles is a 2-tone chuck has two different colors on the outside canvas -- a main color on the sides and an alternate color on the tongue and back support piece. Patches are a new model in basic colors that feature colorful patches underneath worn places in the outer canvas uppers. Click on the shoe image to order a pair.

Extra High or Knee High Chucks

Since 2003 extra high chucks, in canvas, denim, and leather models have been occasionally issued. These are similar to the knee high chucks that were manufactured in the eighties. They are made in limited quantities and never seem to stay in stock very long, so order a pair right away if you see a model you like, as they sell out quickly. The interior canvas is usually a plaid, camouflage, or light color pattern that you can view when the uppers are folded over. Currently no extra high or knee high models are available.

New for 2007 is are high top canvas Jerry Sailor prints with a custom print on each shoe, skate plaid prints in low cut, and skull flames print high tops. Converse has reissued the stars and bars high top in a rummage model. Other canvas pattern Chuck Taylors available include the madras low cuts iand the camouflage high top series. Special Materials Chucks.

Besides leather, Converse is also producing Chuck Taylor models made from other materials besides canvas, including corduroy, hemp, denim, and suede. The latest entries include denim high tops with special stitching, and corduroy high tops with plaid interiors.
