Avril Lavigne is the blonde, punk princess known for her rebellion-themed songs and love of eyeliner. She came on the music scene in the early 2000s, and has spent her career bobbing in and out of relevancy. After her most recent bout of low key activity, Avril released her single “Here’s to Never Growing Up”. Three guesses as to what the song might be about.

Okay, so now that we’ve cracked the mysterious code as to what “Here’s to Never Growing Up” is about, let’s take a look at the video. Right off the bat we see that it takes place in a high school—during a dance no less. This is a route that plenty of music videos have taken, because let’s face it, the thrills and horrors of high school can fit into pretty much any genre of music. This particular song is looking at high school in a positive light, which, after every “high school was so awkward” music video, that’s actually pretty refreshing. Because c’mon, folks. High school may have been terrible for some of us, but it wasn’t all bad.

There’s really not much else to say about “Here’s to Never Growing Up” because it’s actually pretty uneventful. She sings with her band and skateboards around in the halls—in her chucks, no less—but other than that, you will basically be watching a 29-year-old woman croon about wanting to stay young forever; and with the ridiculously youthful outfits she’s given, and the caked on makeup, you can really tell that she means it. All jokes aside though, if you’re bored on a rainy day, give it a quick look!
